Hale.
ICL were required to design, supply and commission a fully integrated smart home system for this luxurious six bedroom 4 storey home in Hale. The integration was to cover all aspects of the home including Lighting, Audio Visual, Heating, Security and Access with all systems then seamlessly integrated into user friendly mobile touch screens.
Our vast experience in this field allowed us to combine all parts of the system using Crestron Processing but leaving each system a certain amount of individual integrity as a failsafe, should the one system fail each individual part of the system would still be usable.
The whole system is brought together using a secure Cat5e data network accessible from every room in the house either wirelessly or wired. This network carries all the signals required including lighting commands, TV signals, telephone and internet all terminated to a central hub.
All the system equipment is housed in a central rack enclosed discreetly behind doors in the basement area and connected to the central data distribution hub. This rack contains the Central Crestron Processor, the Clipsal Touch screen, all the A/V processing, amplifying and distribution equipment as well as 3 satellite boxes, 2 DAB radio receivers, I-POD dock, Karaoke Mixer and Living Control Studio6 DVD/CD server.
2 Crestron Touch Screens, 3 Samsung Touch Screens and the owners Laptop have all got full control of every aspect of the whole house system. Wireless access points have been installed throughout the property to enable remote access this allows the touchscreens to control the system from where ever they are used in the property. Parts of the system that required limited access have been password protected.
In the custom built cinema 2 screens were installed a 50” Plasma on one wall with a JVC HD projector producing crystal clear images on the 112” Stuart screen mounted on the adjacent wall. The Cinema also has its own Elan Amp and Onkyo DVD player. To switch the 5.1 Dolby digital surround sound through 90° depending on whether the projector or plasma is selected in-situ switch relays were installed and controlled by the Crestron processor. It is possible to view all the AV sources in the Rack, the DVD player in the Cinema, the DVD player in the family room, CCTV cameras and the gate entry camera on any screen in the house or cinema.
So whether lying in bed or sat in the custom built cinema furniture using your remote touch screen you can choose a movie to watch, turn up the heating, lower the lighting, see who’s at the front and open the gate to let them in. It is also possible to access the CCTV DVR, View the cameras live, Answer the gate Intercom and open the gates from anywhere in the world.
