ICL were commissioned to supply, Design and install a system that would not just provide energy savings but also monitor the security alarm systems in the 240 apartments located in the 3 buildings and give a central control system for all the lighting. It was also a requirement for the penthouses to have lighting scene setting capabilities.
The system designed and installed by ICL was based on Clipsal C-Bus and required 7 Cat5e data networks to cover the 3 buildings which were linked using network bridges. Every apartment was fitted with an alarm panel linked to the network via a Bus-Coupler. Each individually addressed bus-coupler could then be monitored by the concierge on the front desk where audible and visual alarm indicators would be triggered in the event of intrusion.
The common lighting areas all have PIR motion detection and time schedules. These are monitored from the concierge desk where the status of all the lighting can be checked and changes to the time schedules made. The external lighting and car parking areas were also fitted with light level sensors. These are set at a level ensuring on brighter days when lights are not required that they don’t come on until required. These levels are adjustable from the central control.
The 6 penthouse apartments were all fitted with Clipsal touch screens to afford the occupant the ability to alter the lighting mood scenes within the apartment using a simple user friendly interface.
